Freshwater Storm proved a versatile galloper, with wins over 1200 m, 1300 m, 1400 m, 1600 m, 1700 m and 2000 m. Victorious in the opening heat of the Subzero Challenge for grey sprinters, over 1400 metres at Caulfield, in both 2013 and 2014, Freshwater Storm also won back-to-back Golden Nugget handicaps (at Ballarat in 2015 and Caulfield in 2016) over 1600 metres.
