It's in the DNA

4th Generation Trainer & Equine Professional

Tony's expert hands-on approach when working at the beach means he has first-hand knowledge of each horse's progress.

Tony Parker is a fourth generation equine professional, who takes a holistic approach to each individual horse's health and training.

Tony's passion for training racehorses comes from a lifelong dedication to pursuing equine excellence. The walls of Tony's office are covered in race photos showcasing multiple winners from his trans-Tasman career, when he trained from Takanini racecourse, South Auckland, New Zealand, and achieved Group 1 and 2 success with McDa Knife who finished 2nd in the Wellington Cup (3200 m, Group 1), 2nd in the 2000 Taranaki Cup (2000 m, Group 2) and 3rd in the Waikato Cup (2400 m, Group 2).

Thoroughbred racing runs deep in Tony's veins. He learned from his father, master horseman Warren Parker, who bred, broke-in and owner-trained racehorses while running a dairy farm - just like his own father Hilton Parker and his grandfather Hilton Parker before him.

The education this family of horsemen gave Antony Hilton Parker (his given name) has moulded Tony into the exceptional horseman and trainer he is today. There aren't many trainers who can boast they ride their own horses' work, however Tony sees this as an integral ingredient in his recipe for assessing a fit, healthy and winning racehorse.
